Early Bird Coffee Shop

Where frowns arrive and return to smiles,

a place pouring caffeine and hot espressos,

brewed off seeds and leaves of various forms,

from across the seven seas and nearby towns.

Tuning the mornings into a milieu of gossips locale,

over the stories of the poodles and the cats,

named buns, blues, and boozy with peppered claws,

all of them on someone’s lap, soaking in the sun

while the gossips continue, “It’s going to be hot,

The 90s, no! I like it iced and make it Tall.”

For the morning’s joy, there is something for all

that we enjoy in our early-bird coffee shop,

sending us one way for the rest of the day

with smiles.
